Aldeburgh Business Association members have met to elect new committee members and approve changes for the coming year. At the recent AGM Ella Roberts, Communications Manager for The Red House, was elected Vice Chair and Gary Thompson, owner of Wag & Bone was elected Treasurer.  Sara Fox, owner of Aldeburgh Market and Vice Chair for three years stood down. Sally Ogden will remain Chair for a final year and Sarah Whitelock will remain as Secretary for a final year.

Sally Ogden, Chair of the ABA thanked Sara Fox and said: “We are really pleased to welcome two new members onto the committee, we now have a breadth of businesses and organisations involved. Gary will be looking at things as an independent High Street shop owner and Ella will have valuable input as staff member at an important visitor attraction and heritage site. They will both be a great asset to the committee and the town.”

At the AGM Sally also announced plans for a new logo and website for the association. She said: “I am very excited about the changes. The rebranding will refresh our look and the updated website will make a big difference to communications with everyone involved with the ABA. First and foremost it’s a website for our members but visitors can also use it to find accommodation, cafés and restaurants, services and retail and leisure options. We are very fortunate in having design specialists StudioPond doing the work, David and Henri Villiers are very talented and have produced some innovative ideas for us.”

The new logo and website will be launched to members at the next breakfast meeting of the ABA on 3 July. Businesses in the Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Snape area are welcome to join the ABA by emailing Sally on sal.ogden@btinternet.com.
