'Open for Business' Campaign

Updated: Jan 21, 2021

Dear Members,

We are really pleased to see some businesses opening up again in Aldeburgh.

This week a campaign started to get everyone back to their High Streets, and it will be helpful in attracting visitors to the town. #OpenForBusiness is a social media campaign designed to welcome back shoppers and celebrate the hard work businesses and workers are putting in to ensure their workplaces are COVID-19 secure.

Part of the campaign includes business owners and shop workers taking photos in front of their ‘open’ sign and posting these on their social media channels. Some businesses are already doing this but if you have not joined the bandwagon, now is the time to start. Images will be shared by East Suffolk Council and the Department for Business but lots of other social media accounts will also be taking part (like the ABA!). When you post the photo use #openforbusiness and @esmbiz @beisgovuk on Twitter. On Facebook include @EastSuffolkMeansBusiness @industrialstrategygovuk. No doubt all the Aldeburgh social media accounts will be sharing, retweeting, liking and offering lots of support.

Short self-shot videos of ‘a day in the life’ of staff in reopening businesses are also being encouraged to show the extra measures businesses are taking to keep employees and customers safe. If you think you, or a staff member would be interested in a video like this, please get in touch with nicky.henderson@beis.gov.uk .

Good luck with the changes,

Your committee

Sally Ogden (Chair)

Ella Roberts (Vice Chair)

Gary Thompson (Treasurer)

Sarah Whitelock (Secretary)
