New Committee
Aldeburgh Business Association members have met to elect new committee members and approve actions for the coming year. At the AGM on Wednesday 2 September new committee member Gina Gow, Creative Manager for Incredible Oceans and Aldeburgh’s three day Siren Festival and Richard Howard, Manager of The Brudenell Hotel, joined established committee members Ella Roberts, Communications Manager at The Red House and Gary Thompson, owner of Wag & Bone who continues as Treasurer. After four years in post Sally Ogden retired as Chair and Sarah Whitelock retired as Secretary.
Retiring Chair, Sally Ogden, said: “After a very successful four years both Sarah and I felt it was time to move on, and we are both delighted that we are leaving the Business Association in such good hands. Both Gary and Ella have been in post for over a year and Gina and Richard are a very welcome addition to the team. Despite the challenges of running what is, in part, a networking group during the COVID-19 situation we feel that the organisation and its members are in good shape for the future.”
New committee member Gina Gow said: “Being a member of the ABA has been a great way to meet other businesses and keep in touch with town news. I am delighted to be part of the committee, and look forward to what we can achieve.” Richard Howard added, “I’m very excited to be joining the committee of ABA, I hope my knowledge of previous positions held in coastal towns will add an extra dimension to the already excellent team in place here in Aldeburgh.”
