The ABA committee of four are all unpaid volunteers. They take part because they love the town and believe that by working together local businesses are stronger and have a louder voice on common aims.
Sally Ogden, Chair (centre, red jacket)
Sally has lived in Aldeburgh for 7 years. Before moving here she set up and ran a successful charity shop for 13 years along with being both a Town and District councillor. When not working in her partners business Sally enjoys walking, sailing and the odd game of golf.
Ella Roberts, Vice Chair (centre, grey coat)
Ella is an arts marketer specialising in classical music and the heritage sector. She is currently the Communications Manager at the Britten-Pears Foundation. She moved to Aldeburgh in 2016 and is passionate about the community, local businesses and the environment that surrounds the Suffolk Coast. She sings in local choir Aldeburgh Voices, is a volunteer for Siren Festival and takes part in the Aldeburgh Relay Triathlon with her colleagues at the Foundation.
Gary Thompson, Treasurer (far right)
Gary was elected to the post in April. He is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and has held senior positions within number of multinationals including that of Group Treasurer. He moved to Suffolk (Friston) last December with his wife Jacqui and opened ‘Wag & Bone’ in Aldeburgh High Street earlier this year. He is keen to get involved with the ABA and local business community. Outside of work Gary enjoys tennis, cycling and running, he can sometimes be found in the White Hart after a hard day!
Sarah Whitelock, Secretary (far left, brown jacket)
Sarah has been secretary for the ABA since 2016. After working in broadcasting and in government communications she became involved with the business association when she moved her PR and marketing business to the area. Recently retired, she will be stepping down in May 2020.
